Free Online Protractor doesn’t need your personal data to work, so it doesn’t ask for it. There’s no account, no camera access, and no server that sensor readings get sent to — the angle math runs in your browser, on your device, and stays there.

No accounts or sign-up: there’s nothing to register for, so no name, email, or password is collected to use the tool.

No camera access: the tool never requests or reads your camera, on any device.

No sensor data upload: motion and orientation readings (from DeviceMotionEvent / DeviceOrientationEvent) are read by your browser and rendered on screen locally. They are never transmitted anywhere, stored, or logged.

No tracking cookies or analytics: at the time of writing, this site does not run any analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts, and does not set tracking cookies. If that ever changes, this page will be updated first.

Like effectively every website, the hosting infrastructure that serves these pages may automatically log standard technical information for security and performance purposes — things like IP address, browser type, requested URL, and timestamp. This is ordinary web server logging, not something this site adds on top, and it isn’t used to build a profile of you or linked to any other data.

If you email us (see Contact us), we receive whatever you choose to include in that email — typically your email address and message content. That information is used only to respond to you and isn’t added to a mailing list or shared with anyone else.

Calibration ("zero offset") is held in memory for your current browser session only, so the reading stays sensible while you use the tool. It is not written to cookies, localStorage, or any persistent storage, and it resets when you reload or close the page.

This site does not sell, rent, or share data with advertisers or data brokers. Static assets are served by standard web hosting infrastructure, which is the only third party in the loop, and only in the ordinary sense that any website has a host.

This site is a general-audience tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Since no personal data is collected to use the tool in the first place, there is nothing to gather regardless of a visitor’s age.

If what this site collects or how it works ever changes, this page will be updated and the "last updated" date below will change accordingly. Meaningful changes will be reflected here first — there is no separate mailing list to notify, since none is collected.
